Simpson Bay is the island's most social address: a narrow strip of land with the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Simpson Bay Lagoon on the other, running from the airport to the drawbridge. The lagoon is why much of Simpson Bay exists. Marinas line its shore — Simpson Bay Marina, Yacht Club Isle de Sol, Port de Plaisance and Palapa among them — and yachts of every size homeport here, entering through the drawbridge on a published opening schedule. The beach
Away from the strip, Simpson Bay Beach is the surprise: one of the island's longest beaches, with calm water, a handful of beach bars and a far quieter feel than its location suggests. At its western end the sand runs alongside the airport, where arriving planes come in low over the fence.

The best-known community is Simpson Bay Yacht Club — a gated lagoon-front complex with terracotta roofs, pools, tennis courts and 24-hour security, where many condos are sold with their own boat slip in front of the unit.
